Driving Marathon Excellence in China

Run Up China is a strategic initiative jointly launched by Xtep and the Chinese Athletics Association (CAA). Our mission is to elevate marathon excellence in China, foster global athletic talents, and widely spread the appeal of the sport. We are forging a distinctive Chinese marathon culture, integrating Xtep Running into the very fabric of this national cause, collectively reaching new heights.

The Run Up China incentive program, designed for athletes and event organizers under the jurisdiction of the CAA, offers prestigious awards such as Record-Breaking, Breakthrough, Standard Achievement and Course Record. Through this initiative, Xtep, guided by the CAA, aims to propel China to the forefront of global marathon leadership.

321 Running Festival: Celebrating the Love of Running

Since 2016, Xtep and the CAA have co-hosted the 321 Running Festival, a dynamic platform supporting running nationwide. This festival offers everything from customized professional equipment to various online and offline events, comprehensive training services and a massive racing atmosphere. The 321 Running Festival has become the favorite celebration for runners in China

Inspired by the needs of runners, the 321 Running Festival promised a tech-packed event in 2021, introducing a new portfolio of racing shoes. This initiative allows all runners to overcome speed barriers and embrace the love of running.

Innovation in Racing Footwear: Xtep 160X and 300X

160X 1.0: Lightness and Performance

Weighing just 182g in size US7.5, the 160X 1.0 is ideal for long distance running. It offers good heel-to-toe cushioning with a vibrant rebound, although this can diminish during long runs. Stability is moderate when landing with the heel, and the upper of the shoe provides moderate wrapping. Mono yarn is breathable but has medium flexibility.

160X 2.0: Better Damping and Propulsion

The 160X 2.0 features a moderate weight, approximately 10g heavier than the 1.0. The thickness of the sole has increased ~2.5 mm, improving cushioning for a more comfortable feel. The improved curvature of the carbon plate increases propulsion and stability compared to the 1.0. In addition, it has excellent durability and grip on the sole.

160X PRO: Maximum Propulsion and Damping

The 160X PRO is moderately heavy, ~30g heavier than the 1.0. Outsole thickness has increased by ~8mm, providing excellent heel-to-toe cushioning, with a 9% improvement over the 1.0. The increased curvature of the carbon plate significantly improves propulsion with a vibrant rebound. This model also offers excellent durability and grip on the sole.

300X 2.0: Stability and Comfort in the Race

The 300X 2.0, weighing 238g, is designed for stable racing. It offers good cushioning and support in the heel and toe, along with excellent sole stability, especially compared to the 160X series. The coverage of the shoe is moderate, without causing pressure or friction on the foot, providing a comfortable and safe running experience.

 

Evolution of the 160X carbon plate.

Over the years, Xtep has refined the shape of the carbon plate in its shoes to improve performance and comfort. The 160X 1.0 had a moderate camber that offered a balance between stability and propulsion. On the 160X 2.0, camber was improved to provide greater propulsion and stability. The 160X PRO took this evolution even further with a more pronounced curvature that maximizes bounce and efficiency with every step. These changes, based on extensive research and testing, demonstrate Xtep's commitment to innovation in racing footwear design.
